After a tricky few months, I thought I’d write about dog ownership and why they’re such a defining part of who I am. I also trail why Caroline and I will be covering 1,501km on foot this autumn...
Hi Richard, thank you again for meeting us on Thurs. We will sadly loose our dog walk if NG gets their way! We have a little parson terrier, Pippa and she loves her morning walks down to the chestnut. A great thing you are doing for Dog Valley.
No problem at all, Gordon. It was a pleasure to meet with you all, particularly in such beautiful surroundings - we’ll strive to keep them, and your dog walk, that way!
Loved to read your post today - lucky dogs who have crossed your path. You should look up the Cinammon Trust who also do sterling work similar to the Special Friends you mention … based in Cornwall but help all over the country where they can. Good luck with the pylon nightmare - poor poor Friston …
Thanks, Naomi - I’ll be sure to look up the Cinnamon Trust. Thanks for the good wishes too, Suffolk is certainly feeling the strain from all these projects and the current approach is far from fair on our communities.
That is a very moving account about your passion for dogs and how much they mean to
you and Caroline! The dogs are so lucky to have found the home and love you give them. We love dogs too, but it has never been practical for our lifestyle so cats have dominated our lives! At one point I fed 32 or more stray cats in our garden in Dubai, on top of our own house cats. We’ve alway been involved with cat charities and rescue efforts for those poor abandoned moggies. I could write more, but just wanted to say it was a pleasure to read how your love for dogs grew and grew with you.

Thank you Richard. It is a beautiful spot and can’t quite believe that NG can consider it appropriate and acceptable.
Loved to read your story, totally get it, we have a dog too. Only one though, who we all love dearly.
